Like Charlotte, I - Liza Disselhorst, was also addicted. 
Not so much to alcohol, although yes I have also drunk large amounts of it in the past, but to ‘harmless’ things like studying, relationships, the ‘Sex and the City’ dvd collection shoebox, and sitting in coffee bars. All to escape the same feeling that Charlotte had, underlying her cravings for alcohol or cigarettes; loneliness. So even though the healing retreat was aimed at Charlotte, myself and the rest of ‘the team’ all learned from it, facing our own ‘inner Charlotte’. 

This book is dedicated to a young woman who went through shit, through hell, to come to the conclusion that she is the only one that can help herself. With the help of a small core group of dedicated people, under the guidance of Master Choy, she found her way out of the darkness, back into the light. 

I was a close witness and part of her transformative process, and I believe her story deserves to be written down on real paper right now, to maybe give hope to the countless of other people that live in darkness and do not know a way out.
